VAST:
Vegetation Assets, States and Transitions
What is VAST Transformations?
VAST Transformations tracks transitions between condition classes of selected plant community types over time by integrating production systems (i.e. land management regimes/practices) with changes in ecological function and native vegetation indicators.
What is VAST-2?
VAST-2 is a system that combines spatiotemporal sources of data and information with 22 indicators of vegetation condition.
A report card summarises the effects of land management practices on key ecological characteristics and components of vegetation condition; vegetation structure, species composition and regenerative capacity (function).
Results illustrate transformation pathways including processes of replacement, removal and recovery of native vegetation.
